Terms and Conditions
1. General Information
Scott & Cold is a sole trader business offering plumbing and heating services across [Insert Service Area]. By booking our services, you agree to the following terms and conditions.
2. Bookings & Appointments
All work must be agreed upon and confirmed by Scott & Cold before commencement.
Bookings can be made via phone, email, or our website contact form.
Appointment times are approximate. We aim to arrive on time, and will notify you if delayed.
Missed appointments may be subject to a call-out fee unless at least 24 hours’ notice is given.
3. Pricing & Payment
All prices are quoted in GBP and are inclusive of labour and materials unless otherwise stated.
Quotations are valid for 30 days.
Payment is due upon completion of work unless agreed otherwise in writing.
For larger jobs, a deposit or staged payments may be required.
Accepted payment methods: cash, bank transfer, or card (if available).
Late payments may incur interest at 4% above the Bank of England base rate.
4. Cancellations & Rescheduling
You may cancel or reschedule your appointment with no charge if at least 24 hours’ notice is given.
Short-notice cancellations may incur a call-out fee.
Scott & Cold reserves the right to reschedule appointments due to unforeseen circumstances such as emergencies or illness.
5. Warranty & Guarantee
Workmanship is guaranteed for 12 months from the date of completion.
Manufacturer warranties apply to any parts or appliances installed.
Guarantees do not cover:
Misuse, neglect, or damage caused by others
Natural wear and tear
System changes made after our work was completed
6. Access & Safety
The client is responsible for providing access to the property at the agreed time.
Please ensure that areas are clear and safe for our engineers to work.
If access is restricted or unsafe, we may need to reschedule and charge a call-out fee.
7. Liability
We carry public liability insurance up to £[Insert Amount].
We are not liable for:
Pre-existing faults or damage
Damage caused by delays outside our control
Loss of earnings, profit, or business interruption
We will always aim to minimise disruption and complete work to a professional standard.
8. Landlord & Rental Properties
For rental properties, we require confirmation from the landlord or managing agent before starting work.
Gas Safety Certificates (CP12) are issued following successful inspection and full payment.
9. Complaints
We strive to provide excellent service. If you are unhappy with our work, please contact us within 7 days of completion.
We will aim to resolve complaints quickly and fairly.
If the matter cannot be resolved informally, it may be escalated to an appropriate trade body or ombudsman.
10. Privacy
Any personal details provided to Scott & Cold will be kept confidential and used solely for service and communication purposes.
We do not share your information with third parties without consent.
